Two Jack Lakeside Campground

Location: Range Road 114A,  Lake Louise, Alberta

Just 15 minutes outside of Banff, Two Jake Lakeside Campground is the perfect weekend getaway to kick off the summer months. The campground features unserviced sites designed for small RVS (up to 27 feet) and tents, along with a boat launch. Each site offers fire pits, picnic tables, and access to a camp kitchen. The calm nature of Two Jack Lake makes it the right fit for trout fishing or spending an afternoon out on the canoe. At night, take in the beautiful night skies and look for constellations under a blanket of stars.

Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site Campground

Location: Township Rd 392, Rocky Mountain House, AB T4T 2A4

Rediscover living history when you visit the Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site! A protected historic fur trade post along the North Saskatchewan River, visitors can stay for a night and camp in a Metis Trapper Tent or Trapline Cabin as a break from the RV. Non-serviced sites are available for RVs and trailers. While you explore Rocky Mountain House, check out the York Boat, a replica designed to immerse you in the three-month journey to Hudson’s Bay during the days of the fur trade. The Bison Lookout will give you a sneak peek into the small herds that have made their way from Elk Island National Park.

Dinosaur Campground, Dinosaur Provincial Park

Location: Iddesleigh, AB T0J 1T0

Calling all dinosaur lovers! Every year, the Badlands see hundreds of visitors stop by to see the rugged landscape and learn more about the unique ecosystem. From art tours to bus tours for the family, discover the fossils buried throughout the badlands on a guided hike or become a fossil hunter for a day. John Ware’s Cabin offers visitors a sneak peek into his life after leaving slavery in the 1850s and his passion for horses. Cold Lake Provincial Park

Location: Cold Lake Provincial Park Campground, Cherry Grove, AB T0A 0T0

We’re heading up north to Cold Lake this summer to check out Cold Lake Provincial Park! From sandy beaches perfect for an early morning canoe ride or sailing in the afternoon with the family, this is one of the largest lakes in northern Alberta. Tee off at the Cold Lake Golf and Winter Club and enjoy the 18-hold course. During the winter, you can try your hand at curling or relax in the lounge and spend time with friends.

Carson-Pegasus Provincial Park Campground

Location: Woodlands County, AB T0E 0B0

Head west to Whitecourt this summer and check out the Carson-Pegasus Campground! With 200 sites with power options, you can have your pick for lakeside views or enjoy the forest. Carson-Pegasus Provincial Park Campground has something to offer for every season! You won’t be bored this year, from fishing to hiking and bird watching in the summer to ice fishing, snowmobiling trails and snowshoeing in the winter.

Bow Rivers Edge Campground

Home to 363 sites, Wapiti has options for tents and RVs alike. Wake up to the sound of the Athabasca River rushing behind the trees, and enjoy the view of the mountain range. Pack a picnic and take the Jasper Tram to take in breathtaking sites or enjoy a meal in the cafe. Whistlers Campground

Whistlers Campground has a new look! After an extensive renovation project, the campground is ready to fit each of your needs, from wider roads to accommodate larger RVs and separate entrances to make coming and going from the park easier for registered guests, you can make the most of your vacation. Throughout the campground, washroom and shower facilities are more accessible than ever for campers regardless of your site location. Enjoy waking up to views of Pyramid Mountain each morning, or get off the beaten path and drive along the Athabasca River. Young’s Point Provincial Park

Young’s Point Provincial Park

Location: Youngs Pt Rd, Municipal District of Greenview No. 16, AB T0H 0Y0

Head north this summer to Valleyview and check out Young’s Point Provincial Park! Located on Sturgeon Lake, Young’s Point Provincial Park offers a variety of unserviced, powered and lakeside sites for campers. Spend a day sailing on the lake, or try your hand at waterskiing. For the bird watchers, the park has an observation deck at the beaver pond to sit and take in the wildlife. Looking for something to do in the area? Iron Horse Trail Campground

Location: 4012 53 Ave, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A0

Step back in time and discover a piece of Alberta’s history on the Iron Horse Trail. Settlers throughout history have used the trail to travel between trading posts, from horse and buggy to hopping on the rails. Today, Alberta’s history is kept alive each summer as campers, riders, and history enthusiasts travel the length of the trail and discover local historical sites. Located in St. Paul, the Iron Horse Trail Campground is part of the Southeast branch of the trail. St. Paul offers campers a variety of fishing spots, the St. Bride’s Trading Post, and the St. Paul Art Walk featuring works by Indigenous artists.

Waterton Townsite Campground

Location: Wind Flower Ave, Improvement District No. 4, AB T0K 2M0

Waterton is described as the meeting place of the Alberta prairies and the Rocky Mountains. Boulton Creek Campground, Peter Lougheed Provincial Park

Location: AB-40, Kananaskis, AB T0L 2C0

Looking for a weekend getaway to Banff? Just 50 km south on the Kananaskis Lakes Trail, Boulton Creek Campground offers campers the opportunity to disconnect and dive into nature.
